My Second Favorite Speaking Model

By: Dan Kennedy on: March 1st, 2016 6 Comments

There are two primary ways I know to make money for speaking.

The first, is the model most follow and it can be incredibly effective.  When I spoke arenas at the Success events most of the people I shared the stage with were making six figures a year using this model.

It’s the model of getting paid to speak.

You book a gig, get a check, and deliver your 45, 60, 75 minutes speech and move on.

This CAN be a very lucrative route to go, IF you’re good at what you do, and more importantly, good at MARKETING what you do.

The speaking industry is NO DIFFERENT than any other industry.  There are plenty of amazing speakers barely earning a living because while they are fantastic at their trade, they know little about my trade…marketing.

In the world of getting paid to speak, there has been one man I shared a stage with for decades who still address over 250,000 people a year and unlike many high paid speakers, he was NOT famous for something else previously (i.e. a president, sports star or general.)

He is just very good at his craft and even better at the marketing of himself.

His name is Brian Tracy and right now you can get his book, The 6-Figure Speaker, for free if you click here.

There’s arguably no one in the world with the longevity of success that Brian has manufactured, and in his book he’ll show you how he did it and how you can apply these strategies.

Tomorrow, I will show you the model I’ve used…but today click here and get a free copy of Brian’s book.

Have you ever stood in front of a crowd shaking so much you hope no one notices……yet everyone can hear the quiver in your voice and see the paper you hold vibrating.
Well if you sell nose to nose knee to knee with a prospect than public speaking is something you need to do. Now I am not one to scare easy I have piloted racing cars at speeds most people have only dreamed without batting an eye lid and on tracks that put fear into a lot of drivers I have had commentators ask how come the faster the car the more relaxed I look . Yet the first time I stood in front of a crowd to give a talk on security I was shaking in my boots. Now I am not a paid speaker I earn my money commission only one on one. Now I am happy to report thirty talks later that I am comfortable now in front of a crowd.
Now there are two people that I credit most to my high conversion rates, Dan Kennedy with Craftsmanship one to many and yes, Brian Tracy and his six figure speaker course.
I have invest a lot over the years with both men and the guidance they have given and never regretted a cent as it has all been an investment in myself.

If you’re relying on sales to put food on the table than I cannot stress more the need to be able to stand in front of a crowd and talk about what you do. It is unbelievable the difference it makes the confidence boost so when you are nose to nose with a client they can feel the authority that you speak with oozing from you.

Even if you have no intention to make a living from speaking it is a skill set that everyone in sales and marketing should hold.

Where’s the book? After paying with my email address, all I got was a video for some “training event.” I would like what I paid for.
